Skinny Jeans (Say *WHAT*?)

So I have fantastic news, everyone. Today…I fit into my “skinny jeans” *GASP*. Please note: this is not the trendy interpretation of skinny jeans – aka: spandex in the form of denim. Homie don’t play that. These are the jeans that I remember wearing specifically my sophomore year of college (eeek…4 years ago). I wore them CONSTANTLY and felt pretty darn confident in them. Obviously, when I gained oodles of weight, they no longer fit. I kept them as I moved from house to house to house hoping knowing that I would one day fit into them again.

Back in May or June – shortly after Morgan and I started WW – I pulled them out and put them on for her, demonstrating how unbecoming they truly were. They barely fit over my bum and I couldn’t get anywhere NEAR buttoning them. I announced then that these jeans were my goal…that I wanted to fit back into these ones. Today, friends, I fit back into the jeans. Buttons: buttoned. Up over the bum: check. Dreaded muffin top: not a trace. I would like to make a note that they are still a bit tight, to the point that I would not yet wear them out in public. But they were on. And buttoned.

It was glorious: the clouds parted and angels sang.  I have proof!

Back that thing up

…and today: 2009 (was in a bit of a hurry taking the pic)

So there’s that. Maybe now I’ll have to find a NEW pair of skinny jeans to aim to fit into :)

Speaking of working toward previously-set goals, I ran a 9 minute mile today. For those who run on a consistent basis, I’m pretty sure this is a horrible time. However, as I mentioned before, last time I payed any attention I was struggling to run a 12 minute mile. So my 9 minute mile today seems quite amazing. Granted, I was having a rough time of it toward the end because I was really pushing but I’m still proud and will continue to work to bring that number down. I am also NOT a runner. I did – at one time – play sports that involved LOTS of running but it’s not something I’ve ever really done “for fun”. It is, however, a great way to lose weight. Count me in.

I haven’t been to weigh-in in TWO weeks. I didn’t see a gain on my scale at home…but I certainly didn’t see a loss so I just didn’t go. This week I’m kicking it up again: two-a-days at the gym and I’m back to strictly counting points (haven’t really done this in MONTHS). We’ll see how it turns out. Speaking of two-a-days, I’m headed back to the gym to swim some laps.

Much love, Pro

  • Kelli:

I was real nervous that you decided to get yourself some “real” skinny jeans that are just oh-so “interesting” looking.

But I’m super glad to learn that you are now wear your version of skinny jeans!!! They look great! It must feel so amazing to reach that goal and physically be able to snap those jeans up and know have far you’ve come! Congrats!!!

  • Yay!!

Congrats on fitting into your skinny jeans.

I cannot wait to fit into mine.

  • Well woo-haa! on the jeans.

But I’m so envious of those shoes. I look to gaze at heels ’cause I can’t wear. I’d crack my ankle in ‘em. Or worse.

  • Pro:

Why thank you! The boots are actually REALLY comfy and I didn’t ONCE feel like I was about to fall/break ankle/eat it in them…glorious. Thanks for reading…hope to hear from you more often :)
